New Forest reverts to black bin bags
PINK bin bags have today been given the sack after New Forest council bosses decided to switch to the traditional black variety.
The brightly coloured refuse sacks, which were introduced in 2004 so collection arrangements could be printed on the side, will be phased out in the coming months.
Refuse chiefs at New Forest District Council say they are going back to black for general waste in order to save costs.
Environment portfolio holder cllr Edward Heron said: "This is a sensible decision to return to black bin bags.
"All of the rubbish that we collect in the New Forest now goes to the new incinerator at Marchwood where it is burnt to generate electricity."
He added that refuse arrangements would continue to be printed at Christmas time.

Our house still has 2 and a half rolls of the pink ones left. Can we get a council tax rebate?

I think that the pink bags were a homophobic idea but black bags are obviously racist.
How come nobody has pointed this out?
