Police are treating the death of an elderly couple whose bodies were found at their home as unexplained.
Officers were called to the house in Heather Gardens, Newbury, Berkshire, at just after midnight where the two pensioners, a man aged 82 and a woman aged 85, were found deceased.
A Thames Valley Police spokeswoman said that the cause of death was not yet known but they believe it might have been a drug overdose.
Detective Chief Inspector Gill Wootton, who is leading the investigation, said: "At the moment the circumstances surrounding this incident remain unclear, although it appears some sort of drug may have been involved.
"At this stage we are treating the deaths as unexplained."
