MORE than £500,000 will be given to good causes across the Winchester district, council bosses have revealed.
The city council’s Cabinet has approved a package that will benefit 32 charities and community groups.
The largest cheques are heading to Winchester Citizens’ Advice Bureau and Winchester Area Community Action. They will receive £123,000 and £105,000 respectively towards their annual running costs.
The Trinity Centre in Winchester will receive £90,000, while Bishop’s Waltham Citizens’ Advice Bureau can expect £42,500. Winchester’s Hat Fair, which is Britain’s largest street theatre festival, will get £30,000.
