LUCK which had previously evaded them this season helped Winchester City snatch a dramatic injury-time FA Cup winner from an unlikely source at Wilks Park, home of Flackwell Heath on Saturday.
In the 94th minute, with the score 3-3, Dan King lobbed the ball into the Flackwell penalty area more in an effort to keep it in their half than as a shot. The keeper came off his line and the ball sailed over his head into the net!
King was one of the City apprentices brought along by Andy Leader to experience the FA Cup and did not expect to play let alone score the winner-such are Cup dreams made of.
City face AFC Totton in the next round.
