SAINTS boss Alan Pardew has appointed the first two members of his backroom staff.
Former Brighton & Hove Albion boss Dean Wilkins, brother of Chelsea coach Ray, has joined the club as Pardew's number two.
And ex Wimbledon/MK Dons manager and Cherries caretaker Stuart Murdoch also arrives at St Mary's as a part/time goalkeeping coach and scout.
Wilkins, 47, began his playing career as an apprentice at Queens Park Rangers.
After that came spells at Brighton, Leyton Orient and Ducth side PEC Zwolle.
He ended his playing career with a length spell back at the Seagulls, playing over 300 games during nine years at the club.
Wilkins returned as manager in September 2006, after assuming the position of caretaker manager following Mark McGhee's resignation, and remained in charge until the end of the 07/08 season.
Murdoch was in charge at the Dons between 2002 and 2004, during which time the club relocated to Milton Keynes and changed name.
He was appointed manager after a successful spell as caretaker and after originally joining the club as a goalkeeping coach.
Murdoch joined Cherries as a goalkeeping coach in July 2005 before being appointed joint caretaker.
He reverted back to his original coaching role when Kevin Bond took charge at Dean Court in October 2006.
He has also coached at Watford and Norwich and been a chief scout at Millwall.

no way should Saints let Raziak and Saga unless replacements have been secured. They are both under contract whether they like it or not.
They should see their contracts out like anyone else even if it means being left to warm the bench.End of.

I hadn't gone away - just hadn't anything worthwhile to say. Lots of new names on the site since last season but also a few left who like me had argued our way through the horror of last year and before. If UTS is still around, I very much regret that you just might be proved right (and me wrong) - if the new owner is as good as he seems and we get out of the third division this coming season or next.
You are right that both views above, leading in opposite directions, are points well made. Additional factor is the wages. Get shot of the two Poles and it frees up the wage bill for new signings.
Still don’t know the facts about a wages cap in this division – percentage of income or something? Please can someone enlighten me?

These are the clubs with lots of inward movements (Outwards not listed here)
The Interesting thing is several clubs have only had one or two movements inward (I haven't listed them but Milwall has only had two inwards..lots of outs.
We don't need to measure likely success on the quantity of inward players when we really haven't shown our strength in the league. I do believe our current first team will match well in L1 and develop as the boss adds a couple or three players as he really gets a grasp of the league and our players efforts.
Any comments on any of these transfers would be good.. who are the stand out dangermen?
