BASINGSTOKE Town were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by 10-man St Albans at the Camrose on Saturday.
Town started this Blue Square South clash at the Camrose brightly but found themselves behind 22 minutes in, Drew Roberts heading in Gary Cohen’s cross after a mistake by Ashley Mitchell.
The equaliser came nine minutes later, Warner sending the St Albans substitute ’keeper the wrong way from the spot after number one Paul Bastock had been penalised and sent off for a foul on Robert Rice.
Basingstoke had plenty of pressure after the break but were unable to do enough with it and the visitors held on to secure a hard-earned point.
