SAINTS starlet Gareth Bale can "really excite" Welsh football for the next 15 years.
That was the verdict from national skipper Craig Bellamy after Bale's superb free-kick provided his country with their sole ray of light on Saturday.
The 17-year-old left-back netted direct from a free-kick on only his third senior appearance for Wales - but John Toshack's side were still thrashed 5-1 by Slovakia in Cardiff.
"The one bright light was Gareth Bale," said Bellamy after Wales' heaviest home loss for 98 years.
"We're so lucky that he's Welsh.
"We've got a real player, a real force for the next 14, 15 years - someone who is really going to excite Welsh football."
