Poor start costly for North Warnborough
8:00am Saturday 27th October 2012 in Hampshire Sport By Tony Spencer
NORTH Warnborough crashed out of the North Hants Senior Cup at the first hurdle last Sunday.
One goal down after five minutes and two behind after 15, Warnborough steadied the defence to prevent leaking any more before the break.
The second half was much more balanced, with the home side pressing to get back on terms, but Barton Stacey scored three more breakaway goals to win 5-0.
AC Marstons scored three goals away at Clatford Arms, but conceded nine.
Kaiser Wessex enjoyed a close-fought game as hosts to Chess, ending 1-1 after extra-time, but they lost out on penalties.
Republic of Chineham completed a poor day in the competition with a 4-2 defeat at Sporting Boyatt, their first reverse of the season.
