Gale blows in as Bees make cup progress

BEES’ HERO: Tristan Gale, right
KINGSTON LACY 0 BRIDPORT RESERVES 1
TRISTAN Gale was the hero for Bridport Reserves as they advanced into the third round of the Dorset Senior Trophy following a 1-0 win at Kingston Lacy.
The Magna Dorset Premier League outfit found life tough against their Senior League hosts but they eventually prevailed thanks to a strike in the 89th minute.
Jack Scovell began the move with a fine ball out to Chris Herbst and when he delivered a pinpoint cross into the box there was Gale to side-foot home.
Mark Lock, who managed the Bees in the absence of Robin Townsend, said: “It was a close game and Lacy were tough to break down.
“In fact they probably had the better chances before we scored so I was quite relieved to come away with the win.”
The Bees, who host Sherborne Town Reserves in league action this Saturday, will entertain Sturminster Marhsall in round three on December 12.
