This live event has finished
4:49pm
FULL-TIME - Basingstoke Town 6 Farnborough 2
That's a great way to start 2013 for Basingstoke Town. They needed a big second-half performance and certainly got one, smashing in six goals in the space of 15 minutes. Incredible.
See Thursday's Gazette for a full report and all of the reaction.
4:45pm
Farnborough will have three minutes of additional time to find four goals.
4:43pm
Farnborough go close again, Dan Bennett's angled drive flashing across goal.
4:39pm
SUBSTITUTION - Basingstoke Town - Manny Williams on for Delano Sam-Yorke
SUBSTITUTION - Farnborough - Yinka Salami on for Reece Connolly
4:35pm
Almost an own-goal as a Farnborough defender heads Nathan Smart's corner over his own crossbar.
4:33pm
SUBSTITUTION - Basingstoke Town - Nathan Smart on for Shaun McAuley
4:33pm
Ashley Bayes is in action again, diving to his left to push Dan Bennett's shot around the post.
4:31pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Town 6 Farnborough 2 - Reece Connolly (76 min)
That's a neat finish from Connolly, who slots the ball past Ashley Bayes after more good interplay on the edge of the area.
4:28pm
Elvis Hammond gets a run at goal but his angled effort is well over.
Farnborough seem to be recovering their composure slightly and Dave Tarpey should make it 6-2. Good interplay puts him through but Ashley Bayes saves one-on-one.
4:26pm
DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION - Farnborough - Elvis Hammond and Medi Alalimba on for Nic Ciardini and Reece Jones
4:25pm
SUBSTITUTION - Basingstoke Town - Stefan Brown on for Tim Sills
4:20pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Town 6 Farnborough 1 - Delano Sam-Yorke (64 min)
Wow. Six goals in 15 minutes. That's some purple patch!
It could have gone to Rob Rice, the right-back seeing his low shot touched onto the post. But Sam-Yorke gets his fourth from the resulting corner, using his strength to chest the ball down with his back to goal before turning and forcing it home.
4:17pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Town 5 Farnborough 1 - Delano Sam-Yorke hat-trick (61 min)
That's a great header to seal Sam-Yorke's hat-trick, the striker getting up brilliantly to nod Shaun McAuley's cross just inside the post.
4:14pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Town 4 Farnborough 1 - Tim Sills (59 min)
It just keeps getting better! The fourth goal arrives at the end of a great team move.
The ball breaks to Shuan McAuley on the edge of the area and while he mis-hits his volleyed shot, it falls kindly for Sills to slide home, with Farnborough's offside appeals falling on deaf ears.
4:13pm
Town are looking for a fourth, with Shaun McAuley firing wide and Tim Sills heading straight at Craig Bradshaw.
4:08pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Town 3 Farnborough 1 - Delano Sam-Yorke (53 min)
Whatever Jason Bristow said at half-time, it's certainly made a difference. Three goals in four minutes!
Farnborough looked shell-shocked in the build up to the third, with Town pressing and forcing a string of corners.
One of these was met by Stuart Lake, whose ball across goal was driven in by Wes Daly and turned home by Sam-Yorke.
4:06pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Town 2 Farnborough 1 - Delano Sam-Yorke (51 min)
Just what the doctor ordered. Farnborough goalkeeper Craig Bradshaw completely misses what should have been a simple collection, leaving Sam-Yorke with the simple task of tapping into an empty net.
4:04pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Town 1 Farnborough 1 - Simon Dunn (49 min)
Shaun McAuley's corner finds Tim Sills at the far post. He heads across goal and in the insuing scramble, Dunn swivels to volley home.
4:00pm
KICK-OFF
Farnborough get the second-half started.
3:54pm
Elsewhere, Reading are drawing 1-1 away at Tottenham. They went ahead through Pavel Pogrebnyak, only for Michael Dawson to level things.
3:45pm
HALF-TIME - Basingstoke Town 0 Farnborough 1
It's starting to look like it might be another one of those days. Town are playing okay in general play but are struggling with the final ball and look shaky at the back.
When they did get a clear chance, Wes Daly's penalty was dreadful. Among the worst I've seen.
This is a game Town really need to win as they are in danger of getting cut adrift in the relegation zone. A big second-half coming up.
3:43pm
MISSED PENALTY
Dear oh dear. Town are awarded a spot-kick for a foul on Tim Sills, with Delano Sam-Yorke's subsequent strike chalked off for offside.
Wes Daly steps up to take the kick - and blasts the ball way over the crossbar and into the car park. A terrible penalty.
3:42pm
PENALTY TO BASINGSTOKE
3:40pm
Ashley Bayes has to get down smartly at his near post to keep out Dan Bennett's effort.
Jay Gasson then gives the ball away and while Reece Connolly takes the ball around Bayes, his attempted pull-back is pounced on by the 'keeper.
3:37pm
YELLOW CARD - Farnborough - Reece Jones
Simon Dunn, who is playing well, intercepts a loose pass in midfield and is cynically tripped by Jones, who becomes the first name in the referee's notebook.
Wes Daly takes the free-kick, hitting it straight at Craig Bradshaw in the Farnborough goal.
3:36pm
That's a great double save from Ashley Bayes. Ross Adams' slip on halfway gave Dave Tarpey a run at goal, with the goalkeeper blocking his initial effort.
The rebound looped up to Nic Ciardini, but Bayes recovered well to get up and save his well-struck volley.
3:32pm
Town appeal for a penalty as Delano Sam-Yorke's shot is blocked, but the referee waves away their claims for handball. It would have been harsh.
3:27pm
Simon Dunn just misjudges the bounce of the ball in the Farnborough area and what could have been a decent chance goes begging, before Rob Rice lashes well over from distance.
3:25pm
That's a good cross from Shaun McAuley but a defender just gets up to nick the ball away from Delano Sam-Yorke and Simon Dunn.
The resulting corner leads to a chance as well, Tim Sills finding himself in space on the penalty spot - but he fails to make proper contact with his head.
3:19pm
GOAL - Basingstoke Town 0 Farnborough 1 - Alan Inns (21 min)
Farnborough are awarded a corner, with referee Dan Cook ruling that the ball came off Rob Rice.
The flag-kick is swung in and Alan Inns gets up above his marker to head home from close range. That's the defender's second goal against Town in the space of a week.
3:18pm
Both sides are trying to play some nice stuff but there's not been any end product yet.
Delano Sam-Yorke almost got in for the hosts but was flagged offside, a very tight decision, while Steve Laidler headed narrowly wide for the visitors from a long free-kick.
3:08pm
Farnborough cut through the defensive line and Dan Bennett's pull-back finds Nic Ciardini. He has time to take a touch and looks certain to score - but Rob Rice digs his team out of a hole with a terrific block.
3:03pm
A decent spell of pressure from the hosts ends with Stuart Lake shooting from distance, but it's well wide.
3:00pm
KICK-OFF
Town get the game started. Ashley Bayes must have lost the toss as he is staring into the low sun behind the Clubhouse End in the first half.
2:55pm
The players emerge onto a Camrose pitch bathed in winter sunshine. Makes a change from all the rain we've had of late.
