Diment's looking for a double take
8:57am Wednesday 23rd January 2013 in Hampshire Sport By Adam Summers
LEAGUE CALL-UP: Lyme’s Adam Caddy
KARL Diment is hoping to see action on two fronts this weekend but once again it will be weather permitting.
Not only is the popular boss scheduled to lead his Lyme Regis side into battle on Saturday at home to Farway in the Challenge Cup (2pm), but he is also due to take charge of the Perry Street & District League XI for their County Cup clash against the Yeovil & District League at South Petherton the following day (2pm).
Diment said: “Hopefully both games will go ahead but it is all weather permitting.
“There is no snow on our pitch at Lyme at the moment but it is still very wet and if the rain comes in at the end of the week then we could be looking at another postponement.
“It is much the same throughout the region so we will just have to wait and see.”
Commenting on Farway, Diment added: “We played them on the first day of the season and won 4-2 after being 2-1 down with 10 minutes left.
“We weren’t really at full fitness at that time so hopefully we can make it a bit more comfortable this time around.”
Lyme’s league game at South Petherton was postponed last Saturday but they did manage to play a friendly against West-land Sports on a 3G pitch in Yeovil which they lost 2-1.
Will Meech, Mark Bailey, Adam Caddy and Joel Gostling are all expected to represent the Davey Fort outfit in the Perry Street & District League XI on Sun- day, although changes could be made depending on fitness after Saturday’s games.
