HAMPSHIRE sailor Mike Golding is on course to cross the Vendée Globe finish line later today.
The 52-year-old, from Warsash, is currently expected to complete the round-the-world race some time between 4pm and 5pm.
Golding, who is in sixth position aboard his yacht Gamesa, is set to become the first man to ever finish the Vendée Globe three times.
Frenchman Jean Le Cam, on SynerCiel, crossed the line this lunchtime to claim fifth position.
