Hampshire will face the pace of Shaun Tait this season.
The Australian fast bowler has signed for Essex, who the Royals play twice during the Friends Life t20 at Chelmsford on June 28 and at the Ageas Bowl on July 26.
Essex coach Paul Grayson said: "Shaun is an outstanding T20 bowler who has genuine pace and match-winning ability. We welcome him to the club for the T20 campaign and are hopeful of success with him in the team."
