GLENN Maxwell finished on the losing side on his Test debut as Australia were thrashed by India in Hyderabad.

Having made 13 and taken 4-127 in the respective first innings, the former Hampshire star was lbw to Ravi Ashwin’s off-spin for eight as Australia were all out for 131 – defeated by an innings and 135 runs.

It was the first time in Test history a team had lost by an innings after declaring their first innings and the first Test Australia have lost after declaring their first innings since Headingley 1981.
