Portland Town to meet Belvedere in Junior Cup final
4:30pm Wednesday 6th March 2013 in Hampshire Sport By Adam Summers
SUNDAY BEST: Rodwell's Les Lewis, right
PORTLAND Town and Belvedere will lock horns in this season’s Dorset Sunday Junior Cup final after both picking up comfortable 4-1 victories in the last four.
The two Weymouth Sunday League sides, who beat Windgreen Corfe Mullen and Sailors Return respectively, will fight for the right to hold aloft the trophy on April 14 at a venue to be arranged.
In league action, it was a case of the fabulous fives in the Premiership where table-toppers Rodwell kept up their assault on the title with a 5-0 win over Market House.
Weyline handed a 5-0 walkover to second-placed Rendezvous, who remain six points off the top with two games in hand, while Britannia recorded a 5-1 triumph at Alexandra.
Down in the Championship, league leaders Dolphin stretched their advantage over Portland to seven points with a single-goal triumph at the Lounge. However, the islanders do hold two games in hand.
Elsewhere, Broadmayne and Moby Dick’s drew 2-2, Dolce Vita thrashed George Jewels 5-0 and Yates recorded a 4-0 victory at Weymouth Athletic.
