Southampton’s Chris Mears has been selected for the Great Britain team that will compete in the Edinburgh leg of the Diving World Series.
The 20-year-old is currently in Beijing for the first round of this year’s competition, and will then be in action in Scotland from April 19 to 21.
Southampton Diving Academy ace Mears, who was a finalist in the 3m individual and synchro at London 2012, said: “I’m really proud of my performance at the Olympics. Making the final was beyond my expectations and something I’ll never forget.
“Competing in front of a home crowd was like nothing I had experienced before and I think that the crowd in Edinburgh will create a great atmosphere and spur us all on to do our best.
“I will be in the synchro and the individual and I know the competition will be tough but I have been working on new dives which I can’t wait to showcase in front of the crowd.”
