CHICKERELL UTD 4 CRANBORNE 0

(Chickerell win 8-1 on agg)

CHICKERELL assistant-manager Terry Hind described Saturday’s comfortable victory over Cranborne as “a good exercise” ahead of next weekend’s Dorset Senior Cup clash with Sherborne Town.

The Chickens led the Cranes 4-1 from the first leg of this Dorset Premier League Cup first round tie so when Ben Coltart scored early for the hosts at Weymouth College it was pretty much game over.

Hind said: “We equipped ourselves very well and it was a learning curve for next Saturday’s game against Sherborne.

“We took the lead in the first minute, which basically ended the tie, and it allowed us to then work on a few things.

“It turned out to be a good exercise because there were a few things that needed to be addressed. Towards the end of the first half we lacked a bit of discipline and commitment at the back because the game was pretty much over so we spoke about that at half-time and to be fair the lads came out and performed brilliantly.”

Ashley Smith and Andy Hall also netted in the first half to put the hosts 3-0 up by the break before Warren White completed the scoring in the second period.

Chickerell: Weeks, Graham, Biles, Henley (Miles 64), Hastie, Smith, Turrell, Roper, Hall (Evans 75), Coltart (Sibley 55), White.
