No extra pressure after Forest loss says Jan Poortvliet

JAN Poortvliet says he would be “stupid" if he let the pressure of Saints’ current situation affect him.

The head coach insists he is under NO more pressure with Saints just a point above the relegation zone than he has been at any stage during the season.

Poortvliet is just trying to keep a clear head following the demoralising 2-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest at St Mary’s ahead of a crucial Christmas double header against Plymouth and Reading.

He said: “You feel the pressure the whole year and nothing changes with that.

“We have a young squad but there is always pressure – people don’t look at how it is or how you play but for results, and for the moment the results are not there.

“I put myself every game under pressure because we want to win the game and it doesn’t change. I would be stupid if I did because I need to give everything to put them in a better shape.

“The only thing I need to think about is winning against Plymouth and Reading.”

Poortvliet admits he has to look hard to make sure the team he selects for the Boxing Day game at Plymouth is ready mentally as well as physically.

Jan are you stupid? just look what you have said above, and you might just find your answer.

This bit is priceless.....
“We have a young squad but there is always pressure – people don’t look at how it is or how you play but for results, and for the moment the results are not there.

We have a young squad you keep mentioning, and when people say you can't win with youth. Jan you say you can, and if they good enough and so on. Then you also add to this with saying you have never worked with a better group of youngesters as this lot, and yet you keep losing with this lot and now saying they are tired.Hypocritical statements Jan!

The best bit is is people don't look at how we play. TO THIS JAN YOU REALLY DO NOT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT ANYTHING ABOUT SOUTHAMPTON FANS! To make things worst you say we only look for results. IN THAT STATEMENT JAN ALONE MAKES YOU THE BIGGEST IDIOT IN THE FOOTBALL WORLD! HERES A CLUE JAN...YOU DO NOT GET AWARDED POINTS FOR HOW YOU PLAY, IT IS A RESULT INDUSTRY YOUR IN, AND YOUR NOT CAPABLE OF GETTING THEM!

Lastly Jan it a very grey area as far as I am concerned when you claimed to be playing good football. Because you are not! At best you are play patchy training ground football in the middle of the park, too little and with no end result! Patchy football is nothing when the game is 90+ mins and teams are scoring at will against us and we can't hit the target, and can not play a passing attacking game for the entire match!

Jan give everyone a late Christmas present and sod off! You clearly out of your depth.

It would be interesting to know whether JP actually feels like this or if it's just something he has to say to the media.

If he comes out and says he's worried, that's not going to look good and would probably wear off onto the players.

I have no doubt that Jan is out of his depth, just like Ince was at Blackburn. The problem is Blackburn have money to replace Ince. What are we able to do? Can they sack him? If so, they'll have to pay him off and find someone else. Good luck finding someone that would be happy to take on this job. (Is Ian Holloway still out of a job???)

I think we're stuck with JP, I just hope to God that somebody on the inside can convince him to play 2 up front at home and get the players riled and motivated.

I think we've got the quality to survive in this league, but the players are too young/inexperienced and need to be guided - at the moment, it doesn't look like that's happening.

I really hope that we can pull off a good result on Boxing Day, hope we can come out of the blocks running and Plymouth won't know what hit them.

About time we did that to another team, not have it happen to us.

Truth is we have had some awful managers in the past, and they had a lot in common. They seemed like decent blokes, one had a drink problem I hear, but they all failed to get the best from the players at their disposal. Think back. For how long have we been weak at the back? How many years since we had wingers who could take the ball to the byeline and cut it back? How often has our midfield overrun the opposition in living memory. Who since Jimmy Case bossed the middle of the park? When did we have strikers that put fear in the opposition? when did we last score from a corner? Was Ivan Golac the last decent right back we had? When have we seen players with the passion of Mark Dennis, the skill of Matt Le Tissier since they retired?
That my friends sums up our once respected club and if RL is re-elected, against my wishes and those of most fans, we are not going to see it again.

Yes Jan, you are out of your depth in English football. You are tactically inept, you allow the chairman to buy your players, you fail to see that we are sadly lacking fullbacks and strikers and allow RL to let players you need to go out on loan without a whimper.

Unfortunately any manager who would be able to sort it out will not get a look in as that would threaten Mr Rupert Megalomaniac Lowe. So that is why the support continues to dwindle and the future is so bleak.

I am very pleased to hear Jan is not feeling the presure because I am. We have not won in 6 and conceded 8 goals in the past three. I am not sure what it will take for Jan to feel the presure. For a start he should be playing 2 up front.

Does anybody even begin to undertand what the hell he is talking about every time he opens his mouth?

Listen to him on the radio, read his comments on the OS site or in the Echo - What on earth is he talking about?

So if he manages to confuse all of the fans all of the time, god know's what the players make of it all. Confused - you will be?

That actually shows in the performances week after week - no wonder that nobody seems to know what they are meant to be doing.

Oh and finally Jan - give this 'young squad' excuse a rest for once. You probably didn't notice (do you notice anything?) that Forest had a younger team than Saints on Saturday. Apart from the first 20 minutes (same every week), they played us off the park. They looked far sharper, fitter, faste
r and more competitive than our boys.

Do us all a favour and resign now before it's too late - one home win all season is the end product of all that lovely dutch 'total' football crap you keep preaching.

Denzil, a psychologists point of view.

The person in question is a fantasist who obviously suffers from a low self-esteem. This is apparent from his protesting at living in an expensive area when it is quite obvious he doesn't.
The main reasons for this would be neglect as a child, possible sexual abuse or physical abuse.
His symptoms seem similar to somebody with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, (PTSD).

Another area that would suggest neglect as a child is his hatred of anything that differs from the norm, a significant amount of racists are shown to have an unformed section of the brain, which again is similar in those that are known to have been neglected as a child. Plus Denzil's automatic screams of 'LOWE OUT TAKE YOUR DUTCH BOYFRIENDS WITH YOU' suggests a homophobic role, a homophobic role so intense that suggests the subject is in denial of his own sexuality, he feel angers at his own sexual preferences and as a result tries to deny it.
Denzil is, in all probablity, gay. Though his denial, as will be seen later in this report, can manifest itself in the most horrendous consequences, as the individual concerned tried to prove his manliness to himself. A homosexual in denial can be dangerous to women.
The same can be said of his instant taunt at sexual abuse by family members, this too is probably a hope that other people have also suffered in a similar way.

Denzil's low opinion of women would suggest a difficult relationship with his mother, who he maybe blames for the abuse and or neglect. She probably suffered from a dysfunctional life herself, with signs in Denzil's behaviour suggesting she had many partners. I believe Denzil grew to resent her showing so much attention on her various lovers while neglecting him. There is a good chance many of the partners were abusive and violent, causing Denzil to further hate his mother. It is quite possible Denzil would watch through the keyhole while his mother was having sexual intercourse and would feel ashamed at the arousal he felt at the time. There is a great possibility Denzil tried to get close to his mother, probably wearing her soiled underwear for comfort.
This rejection has made it difficult for Denzil to form any type of relationship with the opposite sex, as a result he hates women.
I would suggest he is a danger to women with a serious risk of becoming a sexual predator.
There is also a high chance Denzil was abused by one or more of his mothers partners, the hatred may also come from his mother knowing this type of abuse was occuring.

The rage that can be seen in his ranting posts further point to a confused and deluded young man, you can almost sense him screaming at the computer as he types.
The lack of originality and repetitive nature of his posts would also indicate a severe lack of intelligence, this would best be explained by Denzil dropping out of school early as a result of bullying by his peers.
As a result it has lead to Denzil being unable to form relationships with other men, who he feels inferior to.

Denzil wants people to feel his pain, this would explain his need to taunt those who have suffered loss or a need to taunt those that are disadvantaged. Although Denzil himself will not have made anything of himself, he feels through the inter-net, he can make an alterego who has made a success of his life in order to make himself feel better.

Denzil is a sad individual who should be monitored closely, I would also suggest that Southampton Police should question him to establish where he was on the night of the alleged sex attacks in Southampton City centres parks.
