WEYMOUTH and Dorchester Town will today discover their opening day opponents as the 2009/10 Blue Square South fixtures are released (10am).
The two sides will equally be as eager to find out when they are due to meet one another competitively for the first time since January 2006, when the Magpies ran out 2-0 winners.
The Terras earned promotion to the top flight of non-League football that season and stayed there for three years until relegation from the Blue Square Premier was confirmed at the end of April.
Dorchester meanwhile, remained in Blue Square South last term by virtue of a 2-1, final day win over Bromley, in which Tom Mitchell scored the deciding goal.
The new season’s fixtures are to be announced this morning.
* Weymouth supporters will be given the chance to meet, and question, manager Matty Hale and his assistant Ian Hutchinson at a Fans’ Forum in the Wessex Stadium lounge on Wednesday (8pm).
The evening is being hosted by chairman Ian Ridley, who will also be open to fans’ questions.
Meanwhile, fans who purchase season tickets for the new campaign will receive free entry to home games for the newly-formed reserve side.
Ridley said: “There will be some attractive fixtures against the likes of Portland United and Chickerell United so we hope fans will respond and take up our offer.”
Details of season ticket prices can be found at theterras.co.uk or by visiting the club office.
* Dorchester are set to be rewarded for their impressive FA Cup run last year.
The county town side reached the first round proper for the first time in eight years before bowing out to Oxford United in a replay.
As a result, they will receive just under £10,000 from the FA Cup Pool, which is a collective sum of money paid by clubs involved in replays from the third round onwards.
