MARK Wotte has warned clubs interested in signing Adam Lallana that the young star will never be sold on the cheap.
Premier League newboys Wolves, who earlier in the week sealed a £1.2m deal for Andrew Surman, have been rumoured to be interested in making a move for Lallana for a fee of around £500,000.
That is way below the value of up to £5m being talked up as recently as January before the youngster's form dipped in the second half of last season.
Having already lost David McGoldrick and Surman, which Wotte acknowledged was necessary to help the club financially, the manager is no mood to let Lallana go as well.
And in the worst case scenario that he did either have to sell him or decided to cash in to generate transfer funds after a takeover, there is no way he will do it at a cut price rate.
He said: “Adam Lallana is not for sale at the moment.
“If people want to make an offer then they have to rate him in the same category as Andrew Surman and David McGoldrick otherwise there is no way we will even negotiate.”
