If they take over, SFC will be just a part of their interests and the all of their profits will not be poured into football - the other business interests will have to be maintained. It would be another asset on the firm's portfolio.

Have to agree with Northern Saint (I am qualified). The exclusivity period could have done immense damage to the club and I doubt it did the creditors much good either.

Sorry but this kind of stirring ended last week. This week the threads should be full of support for the new regime from Wotte and his team to his moment as he meets the new owners and gets the lads out to Totton and then on to Bournemouth. RobSaint, I love the way you can quantify how 'the Swiss' operate due to your previous dealings. There are 7.5 million people in Switzerland and i'd hazzard a guess that not all 'the Swiss' dont like risks and refuse to spend money on transfers. I would imagine that they see it as a reasonable deal: admin has depressed the price, academy could still produce players, reasonable squad still (though had the deal been done earlier!). So how on earth do you make the Liebherr group into a that category? They are highly respectable sensible ivestors of a kind that will protect their investments long term. This is a brilliant prospect for Saints if it goes ahead Saints will be secure and on the right path to a great future.

That's not to say this isn't fantastic for Saints if it goes through - it most definitely would be. But I think anyone expecting crazy spending needs to reign themselves in right now. Having financial stability and the funds on hand if necessary would be fantastic though.

I wholeheartedly agree. I don't think any club deserve to be a plaything and get financed to success. We are no exception. I would imagine that they see it as a reasonable deal: admin has depressed the price, academy could still produce players, reasonable squad still (though had the deal been done earlier!). Then sell us on after we have been promoted once or twice. That is fine We need to learn a bit of humility and take on more responsibility for the club.

There's more sense in these two posts than anything seen in the last few weeks. We don't need messiahs, big name managers, or ex-player front men on the board. We need good management, a good board and a steady return to becoming a well run club.

So how on earth do you make the Liebherr group into a that category? They are highly respectable sensible ivestors of a kind that will protect their investments long term. This is a brilliant prospect for Saints if it goes ahead Saints will be secure and on the right path to a great future.

You are both right.....Hocus Pocus was by Focus and not Krokus. But Krokus are a great, (the only???) Swiss band. Did a great cover of Ballroom Blitz......and I can't think of anything else that rhymes with 'ocus'!!

LATEST: The reason the Harris bid looks to have failed was because of 4 major points of disagreement between Harris and Orville that couldnt be reconciled. The negotiations were said to be frantic and Fry ended up covered in feathers and unimpressed.

If they take over, SFC will be just a part of their interests and the all of their profits will not be poured into football - the other business interests will have to be maintained. It would be another asset on the firm's portfolio.
