David Connolly is expected to make a long awaited return to the bench after a lengthy spell out with an injury.

Good to know Chairman happy in full control.. owner just loves to come over for games.. stays out of it.
Nice he shares the nerves of match day too - very passionate.
There is no rift between Him and Pards but chairman has high expectation for his expenditure... He wants play-offs for his money. Gap between Norwich and Charlton who had no money spent and Saints who spent a lot is too big.
So no rift but he's not happy with on pitch performance and the gap.
Hasn't really been nailed down.

Sadly, most of the money was spent in January, which was slightly too late. If only Pinnacle hadn't wasted so much time, then we'd have done the best business in the first window and we'd be in the play-offs now.

Brings back memories of him taking me down to watch Saints as a kid of 3 sat on the font row of the stand on the half way line in the west stand. Been addicted ever since. Hate it when we are so dominant and get to the halfway mark just 1 goal ahead.
I'm always worried that the other team will have the borrocking of all borrockings and come out flying.
Maybe the fans booing the ref may lead him to give us a soft penalty.

I know we all feel their is terrible corruption in football.. this kind of performance is not acceptable and breeds contempt and doubt about the authorities honesty.

It's because our fans are far too nice.
The refs have no fear of them, as they have always had the reputation of being fair fans from a 'family club', so they don't care if they get it wrong against us.
Whereas any ref that is that bad at places like Leeds, Man Utd, Liverpool etc, fears the fan reaction and/or the manager's reaction.
Maybe the crowd STILL needs to become more volatile?????
Glad to see the neighbours are now 9 points off safety, before having points deducted.

I was a bit anxious with 20-mins to go and still only 1-0. See we had the lion share of posession - and another bad referee?
Results were kind of kind to us - could have done with Brighton doing us a big favour. Brentford and Norwich did well for us.
So on to Swindon game on Tuesday and then off to MK Dons. Now if we can win both of these clubs vying for 6th will be getting all edgey... The Saints are coming! Boy Charlton could have done a big favour but Millwall sound strong - and what about 10-man Carlisle beating Colchester after going 1-0 down?

I feel that was one of the more impressive performances i have seen from southampton, disappointed to not score more, but we were solid at the back, for me jaidi played excellently as did wayne thomas.
The referree today was an absolute joke, to think hes premier league makes me laugh, had to laugh at the immense boos he got at half time. Im still doubtful about our chances at playoffs, think weve come good too late, heres hope for next season, automatic promotion maybe?
Enjoyed listening to the interview with Nicola Cortese aswell.
