FC Censo just beat Tron FC

BARRY Graves’ FC Censo side maintained their 100 per cent start to the premier campaign with a 2-1 win, but were run close by newly promoted Tron FC.

Luke Richardson gave them the lead in the third minute after a shot hit Tron defender James McCallion and knocked him to the ground, writes PETER RAYNBIRD.

The Tron men stopped, expecting the whis¬ tle, but play continued and the Censo striker slammed the ball into the net from 18 yards.

Kirk Smith forced a brilliant save from Dean Mahoney and Matt Wilson went close as Tron attacked. Damian Smith hit a chance wide for Censo in the first half, but in the 58th minute Tron equalised.

Ross Cook, out on the left, switched the ball to the waiting Chris Laversher on the oppo¬ site flank and his cross was headed firmly past Mahoney by Peter Amps. Laversher and Cook forced further saves and Tron looked like picking up a deserved point until in the 82nd minute when Paul Worsfold laid the ball off to Richard Kalswarczyk who hit the winner with an unstoppable shot.
