Hat-trick for Gould as Kaiser see off Overton
8:00am Friday 5th October 2012 in Hampshire Sport By Tony Spencer
DEAN Gould grabbed a hat-trick as Kaiser Wessex saw off visitors Overton United 5-1 in Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division One.
Single goals from Paul Coney and Alex Brown completed the victory.
CI took a first-half lead through a Keith Davies’ header against North Warnborough.
After the break, Davies increased the lead and further strikes from Josh Bromley and sub Paul Oliver completed a 4-0 victory.
The two unbeaten sides from division one clashed at Republic of Chineham as they entertained Basingstoke Sports and Social.
They slogged out a close-fought first half with few chances for either side. Wayne Finn broke the deadlock in Chineham’s favour after 55 minutes but Basingstoke Sports and Social equalised through Alex Izzo 10 minutes from time and squandered a couple of late chances, resulting in honours being even.
