Welly derby in the Hampshire A Cup
8:00am Tuesday 9th October 2012 in Hampshire Sport By John Boyman
WELLY Old Boys played their own reserve team in the Hampshire A Cup - but it was no walkover.
The first team led after 13 minutes through Carlton Richardson – put through by Richard McCoubrie. They extended the advantage after 23 minutes when Ben Nicholls beat goalkeeper Darren Gary with first time shot.
Play was very even and, when Craig Gorka floored Tom Ferris, Brian Cook converted the spot kick. Cook then headed home following a Stuart Murfitt throw to make it 2-2.
The winner came in the final 10 minutes when a long throw from McCoubrie found the head of James McIntosh.
