HAMPSHIRE’S reigning world match racing champion Ian Williams will have to wait until December to make his final play for a fourth title.

The Lymington skipper’s Team GAC Pindar crew were ousted in the semi finals of the Argo Group Gold Cup in Bermuda, the penultimate event of the World Match Racing Tour, by Swedish rival Johnnie Berntsson, leaving them just nine points clear at the top of the overall standings with one regatta left.

Williams will be hoping to add to world series wins in 2007, 2008 and 2011 when he takes on his fellow competitors at the tour finale, the Monsoon Cup, in Malaysia in December.
