WATERSIDE teenager Shane Castle has again raised his own bar with a massive new high break en route to winning a tournament in London.
The English under-14 and under-16 champion cleared every ball on the table in the quarter-finals of the first of five southern legs of the EASB Under-21 Series at Frames Sports Bar, Coulsdon.
Castle’s 141 break, his 27th competitive century, came in the first frame of a 2-0 victory over Andrew Scott (London). It eclipsed the 137 he made against Ben Harrison on the EASB Premier Junior Tour in Romford five days before his 12th birthday.
The 14-year-old from Marchwood then accounted for Sam Harvey (Bedford) 2-1, against whom Castle had recorded his first century (101) at a tournament in Rushden at the age of nine.
And he saw off Adam Bobat (Fareham) 3-0 in the final when he opened with a run of 59 and produced a 46 clearance in the next frame.
