LIVE - Basingstoke Town v Havant and Waterlooville

This live event has finished

4:51pm

FULL-TIME - Basingstoke Town 1 Havant and Waterlooville 2

That's another smash and grab result secured against Basingstoke. They performed well, created chances and were a bit unlucky not to score more - but some slack defending ended up costing them.

See The Monday Gazette for a full report and all the reaction to today's game.

4:50pm

The ball breaks to Tim Sills in the area but his effort is well blocked, with the same man heading the resulting corner just over.

4:47pm

Town will have four minutes of stoppage time to salvage something from the game.

4:47pm

Christian Nanetti lets fly from 20 yards but it's well wide.

4:46pm

YELLOW CARD - Basingstoke Town - Nathan Campbell

A somewhat soft booking for a foul in the air midway inside the Havant half.

4:44pm

BASINGSTOKE HIT THE POST

That's a fantastic strike from Shaun McAuley, whose effort from 20 yards beats Dan Thomas all ends up but comes back off the post.

4:44pm

Matt Warner's attempted cross has Dan Thomas backpedelling hurridly but the ball lands on the roof of the net.

4:42pm

SUBSTITUTION - Havant and Waterlooville - Scott Jones on for Ollie Palmer

4:40pm

Ollie Palmer outmuscles Jay Gasson but sees his effort smothered by Ashley Bayes.

4:40pm

SUBSTITUTION - Basingstoke Town - Shaun McAuley on for Callum McNish

4:34pm

GOAL - Basingstoke Town 1 Havant and Waterlooville 2 (Palmer 77)

Stefan Brown and Nathan Smart conspire to give the ball away in the Havant half and the visitors break quickly.

Ryan Moss is played in down the left and his low centre finds Ollie Palmer unmarked in the area. He has time to take a touch before slotting the ball beyond Ashley Bayes.

4:33pm

That's a big shout for handball against Jake Newton as Delano Sam-Yorke's shot seems to strike him on the arm. It was ball to hand but you've seen them given.

4:31pm

SUBSTITUTION - Havant and Waterlooville - Ryan Moss on for Tony Taggart

4:30pm

That really should be a goal for the hosts. Delano Sam-Yorke did brilliantly down the right, beating two men before pulling the ball back for Callum McNish.

The ball is at an awkward height but it's a open goal and McNish fails to direct it on target.

4:28pm

Stefan Brown's cross/shot is cut out to deny Delano Sam-Yorke the simplest of tap-ins.

4:24pm

SUBSTITUTION - Havant and Waterlooville - Paul Hinshelwood on for Stefan Bailey

4:23pm

That's a chance for Christian Nanetti, whose low effort is too close to Ashley Bayes.

4:22pm

That's an odd decision. Jake Newton is penalised for a foul on Delano Sam-Yorke. It seemed to be in the area and Sam-Yorke went down very easily but the referee awards a free-kick, which Wes Daly wastes.

4:20pm

SUBSTITUTION - Basingstoke Town - Nathan Smart on for Chris Paterson

Paterson has had a difficult afternoon up against Ollie Palmer and he has also has a knock. Robert Rice goes to centre-back.

4:18pm

SUBSTITUTION - Basingstoke Town - Stefan Brown on for Jordace Holder-Spooner

4:17pm

Nathan Campbell finds Jordace Holder-Spooner on the right side of the area but he can only blast well over.

4:16pm

Havant 'keeper Dan Thomas drops a routine cross and is fortunate to see one of his defenders clear the danger.

The resulting corner finds its way back to Matt Warner, whose right-foot cross is headed narrowly wide by Tim Sills.

4:11pm

YELLOW CARD - Basingstoke Town - Wes Daly

Daly felt he was fouled in the lead up to the Havant goal and his complaining finally earns him a booking.

4:10pm

That's almost a second for the visitors as Christian Nanetti's effort from range fizzes just over the Town bar.

4:07pm

GOAL - Basingstoke Town 1 Havant and Waterlooville 1 (Taggart 50)

That's poor from Wes Daly, who dwells on the ball midway inside his own half and is eventually dispossed. Tony Taggart lets fly from 20 yards and his shot takes a deflection off Chris Paterson on its way past Ashley Bayes.

4:07pm

YELLOW CARD - Havant and Waterlooville - Jake Newton

Newton catches Nathan Campbell late and earns a booking.

4:02pm

KICK-OFF - Havant get the second half started. Neither side have made any changes at the break.

3:48pm

HALF-TIME - Basingstoke Town 1 Havant and Waterlooville 0

That's a good half from Town, who have been comfortably the better side and have a lead to show for it. I expect Havant to improve after the break though.

3:47pm

Matt Warner's corner leads to a scramble, with Wes Daly seeing a couple of efforts blocked before Havant get the ball away.

3:46pm

Robert Rice does well to head the ball away from danger after some good play by Christian Nanetti. The ball falls to Perry Ryan, who fails to get hold of his effort.

3:44pm

YELLOW CARD - Havant and Waterlooville - Ed Harris

Harris body-checks Callum McNish 30 yards out and it's a clear booking.

Wes Daly gets the resulting free-kick on target but Dan Thomas gets across to make the catch.

3:37pm

A long kick from Ashley Bayes almost leads to another chance for Delano Sam-Yorke. Havant allow the ball to bounce and in the end Ryan Woodford does well to nick it away from the Town scorer before he can get a shot in.

3:35pm

A poor pass from Callum McNish leaves Christian Nanetti running at the Town defence but he chooses to shoot from distance and fires way off target.

3:33pm

Havant's Ollie Palmer looks to play a one-two with Christian Nanetti and if the winger's return pass had been better, Palmer would have been in. Bayes is off his line quickly to mop up the danger.

3:31pm

That's a great bit of skill by Nathan Campbell, who juggles the ball to beat one man 20 yards out before firing in a volley that zips just over the crossbar.

3:25pm

GOAL - Basingstoke Town 1 (Sam-Yorke 25) Havant and Waterlooville 0

That's a great goal from the Town talisman, who created something out of nothing by turning Ryan Woodford 25 yards out and smashing a left-foot shot into the top corner.

It's Sam-Yorke's first goal for a while and he celebrates with the home fans - something he is booked for.

3:23pm

Wes Daly's high free-kick into the area causes problems in the Havant defence but it's just too high for everybody.

3:18pm

That's an excellent header by Tim Sills, who redirects Matt Warner's cross towards goal from the near post, forcing Dan Thomas in the Havant goal into a fine save.

3:17pm

Delano Sam-Yorke does excellently in the right channel and flashes the ball across goal. There was no Town player there to net a tap-in though.

3:15pm

Good interplay on the edge of the area leads to a shooting chance for Havant's Perry Ryan - but he pulls his effort well wide.

3:12pm

Christian Nanetti fires a low shot well wide of Ashley Bayes' goal.

3:11pm

Chris Paterson's mistake almost gives Ollie Palmer a clear run at goal but the defender does well to get back and make a vital challenge.

3:07pm

Havant's Steve Ramsey lets fly with a volley from 30 yards but it lacks power and is straight at Ashley Bayes in the home goal.

3:04pm

This has been a decent start by the hosts and it's a chance for Tim Sills at the near post - but he can only head over under pressure.

3:02pm

KICK-OFF - Havant get the game under way during a sunny spell, they are shooting into the sun behind the Clubhouse End in this first half.

That's almost an immediate chance for Town as Delano Sam-Yorke flicks the ball to Tim Sills - but he is flagged offside.

2:50pm

Team news - Basingstoke boss Jason Bristow has made just one change to the side that lost at Dorchester in the FA Cup last week, with Jordace Holder-Spooner coming in for Stefan Brown.

The surprise comes in midfield, with Shaun McAuley only being named on the bench.

Town: Bayes, Rice, Warner, Paterson, Gasson, Campbell, Daly, McNish, Sills, Sam-Yorke, Holder-Spooner. Subs: Brown, Smart, McAuley, Dunn, McDonnell.

Havant: Thomas, Newton, Ryan, Hutchinson, Harris, Woodford, Taggart, Bailey, Palmer, Ramsey, Nanetti. Subs: Page, Kabba, Jones, Hinshelwood, Moss.

2:45pm

Good afternoon and welcome to live updates from the Camrose, where Basingstoke Town are hosting Havant and Waterlooville in a Blue Square Bet South Hampshire derby.

Havant appointed a new manager in former Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury on Wednesday, so they'll be keen to impress him and improve their position in the league.

Yet again another Basingstoke game where the attacking has been good weve had chances with put a few away but the defence is honestly shockingly poor at times so many mistakes the only person whos good at defending is Nathan and thats it

i would just love to see one game where we win without conceding a goal i'm let down yet
