FRUSTRATED Jan Poortvliet has called on his side to stop showboating and concentrate on finding the net.
After back-to-back victories against Derby in the league and Birmingham in the Carling Cup, Saints were flying going into Saturday's televised lunchtime kick-off against lowly Blackpool.
But the performance of Saints' young team fell well short of their previous two efforts and they were deservedly beaten 1-0 by the Seasiders.
Ben Burgess' penalty just before half- time proved the difference.
Poortvliet was clearly frustrated by his side's lacklustre display and felt they were not decisive enough in the final third.
He said: "At moments we played good but we have to stop with the show and play for winning for points.
"Sometimes in the second half they went more for the show than for making a goal - and we need goals.
"It is an attitude and there is nothing wrong with that because it comes from their quality, but before you show quality I prefer you make wins.
"I remember two attacks with good combinations and then we didn't shoot - why?"
