JAN Poortvliet goes into transfer deadline day with an open mind.
The Saints head coach is not quite sure exactly what to expect in today's final hours of player trading before the window closes at midnight and stays shut until January.
Last week Saints brought in striker Tomas Pekhart on loan from Tottenham and midfielder Anthony Pulis on a permanent basis from Stoke.
The latter of those two was as part of the move which took Andrew Davies to the Britannia Stadium the previous week.
But the move was held up after Pulis picked up an injury in training which means he is still sidelined for a short while.
There are expected to be more departures before the end of today with Saints still keen to move on big wage earners such as Rudi Skacel.
There is also rumoured interest in goalkeeper Kelvin Davis and striker Bradley Wright-Phillips.
