RONNIE O’Sullivan has launched a nationwide hunt for a ‘Pocket Rocket’.
The three-time world champion, dubbed the ‘Rocket’ for his quick-fire style of play, has teamed up with snooker club chain Rileys to find the UK’s best under-17 player.
Rileys is offering a £5,000 sponsorship package to the eventual winner.
Youngsters will compete through two levels of qualifying tournaments. The eight regional champions will then attend a ‘boot camp’ in Sheffield during the world championship and face O’Sullivan in a series of tests and interviews in Shepherds Bush, London, on May 16.
Rileys, in Shirley, hosts first-round matches, which will use a six-reds best-of-five format, at noon on Sunday, March 28.
