ALTHOUGH the windows are whitewashed and the building unoccupied, all of the interior lights in the old Somerfield supermarket in Salisbury Road, Totton, are burning bright, 24 hours a day and have done for some weeks now.
I know that a lot of local people share my concern about the energy wastage and impact on the environment because several people have taken the trouble to call into our council office and say so.
Our officers have contacted the owners, but nothing is done - the lights continue to shine, far more than could be justified for security reasons.
Maybe an employee of Somerfields, reading this, might think it good policy to do something?
COUNCILLOR DAVID HARRISON, chairman, Totton and Eling Town Council.
